Pep Guardiola has named Bukayo Saka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Emile Smith Rowe as players his Manchester City side will need to be wary of against Arsenal.
The Premier League leaders travel to north London tomorrow to take on the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium, with City looking to extend their run of 17 wins in a row in all competitions.
But Guardiola has been full of compliments for Arsenal ahead of the contest, with the Manchester City boss heaping praise on his opposite number Mikel Arteta, who previously worked alongside him as his assistant at the Etihad Stadium prior to becoming the Gunners’ head coach.
And Guardiola has picked out three Arsenal players he says his side must be wary of as they look to try and complete the double over the Gunners in the league this season.
“All I can say is the last months show me that all managers need time and he is not an exception. What I see in the last two months every game Arsenal played is better than the opponent,” he said, speaking ahead of the game.
Mikel Arteta and Edu already have a plan to stop Chelsea from signing Erling Haaland
Erling Braut Haaland is one of world football’s most highly rated prospects at the moment.
The Borussia Dortmund striker scored twice against Sevilla in the Champions League this week to take his goal haul for the season to an incredible 25 from just 24 matches and looks set to battle it out with Kylian Mbappe for the Balon D’Or over the next decade.
Unsurprisingly there are plenty of clubs after the 20-year-old’s signature, with Chelsea rumoured to be one of the favourites.
However their local rivals Arsenal may have found a way to ensure that does not happen.
Another team interested in signing Haaland are Real Madrid as they look for a long-term replacement to replace Karim Benzema in the centre forward position.
However, due to the financial impacts of COVID-19 and financial fair play rules money is very tight for Los Blancos who would have to stump a fee of well over £100m to secure the Norwegian striker’s signature.
Reports have suggested that Mikel Arteta would like to keep both of them in his squad next season, with Edu currently working on deals to make their moves permanent in the summer.
The Gunners boss has previously stated he is a fan of Ceballos and suggested after signing Odegaard temporarily last month that he is open to the idea of keeping him at the Emirates beyond this summer.
“He certainly has all the qualities and characteristics that we are looking for for that position,” said Arteta ahead of his side’s 0-0 draw against Manchester United.
“Then it will be down to two things. First of all, how well he adapts here and how much of an impact he can have in our team.
