One of the top sides in the Premier League are ready to try and tempt Gianluigi Donnarumma to sign with them, a report claims.

With six months left until his contract expires, the pressure on Milan is growing by the week to find an agreement or risk losing such a talented player for free. Despite the situation, numerous sources are claiming that Donnarumma wants to stay at his boyhood club and that the management are optimistic about finding an agreement.

According to what is being reported by Fichajes.net, Manchester United are in the running to try and land Donnarumma as the Premier League club’s plan is to get rid of David De Gea and replace him with the Italy international.

United are ready to offer Donnarumma a stellar contract to convince him to move to Old Trafford and leave the club of his heart, but Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will of course try until the end to get him to stay.

Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Scott McTominay – Manchester United injury list and return dates

Manchester United have a number of injury concerns ahead of facing Newcastle United on Sunday.

The Reds have endured some patchy Premier League form of late, dropping points to the likes of Sheffield United, Everton and West Brom, but they enjoyed a 4-0 win over Real Sociedad in the Europa League on Thursday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rotated some of his starting XI for the win over the Spanish club and could well be forced into naming a similar side to face the Magpies if players do not regain fitness.

Here is United’s injury list and expected return dates.

Paul Pogba

Pogba has not played since limping off with a thigh injury in United’s 3-3 draw with Everton earlier this month.

Solskjaer has confirmed that Pogba will not be fit for the rest of February, handing a blow to United after the Frenchman’s excellent form of late.

What Solskjaer said: “Paul is recovering well, starting treatment. Still a few weeks, so he won’t be playing in February, that’s for sure.”

Expected return date: Unknown

Edinson Cavani

Cavani picked up a muscle injury that prevented him from travelling to Turin for the Europa League tie with Real Sociedad.

Whilst Solskjaer admits it is uncertain whether the forward will be fit for the game on Sunday, he says Cavani does have a chance of being fit in time.

What Solskjaer said: “I don’t know how Edinson and Donny will be, either. They have a chance I think.”

Expected return date: 21 February

Donny van de Beek

Like Cavani, Van de Beek was unable to face Real Sociedad due to a muscle injury.

Whilst he has a chance of being fit for the Newcastle United game, it seems unlikely that he will feature from the start, having yet to cement his place in Solskjaer’s strongest XI.

What Solskjaer said: “We just have to give them until before training on Saturday, because Saturday we need to pick a team so we will see how they are, hopefully they can both be available.”

Expected return date: 21 February

Scott McTominay

McTominay had been a doubt to feature against Real Sociedad due to a knock and, whilst he started the game, he was withdrawn after the hour-mark.

Whilst the decision was thought to be a precautionary one, it is unclear if the midfielder will be considered fit enough to feature against Newcastle.

What Solskjaer said: “I don’t know how Scott is.”

Expected return date: 21 February

Phil Jones

A knee injury has prevented Jones from playing all season, although he was registered in United’s Premier League squad for the second half of the season.
