Mustafi linked with Barcelona switch, Thomas Partey injury latest and Grealish coming

Gunners urged to sign Grealish

Arsenal have been told to sign Aston Villa and England star Jack Grealish by club legend Gilberto Silva.

Grealish was part of the Villa team that thrashed the Gunners last weekend at the Emirates Stadium, and Giberto has urged his former team to try and sign the tricky winger.

Speaking on The Invisible Wall podcast via Evening Standard, the ex-Arsenal defensive midfielder said: “Grealish, amazing. It seems like he could be a player that Arsenal missed. With his ability, he was one of the guys in the middle who can play beautiful football. He controls the ball, assists and scores goals.

Ghana boss on Partey injury

Ghana manager C.K Akonnor has been speaking about Thomas Partey ‘s injury after the Arsenal star had to pull out from international duty.

Partey suffered an injury in last weekend’s 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa and was forced to miss out on the Ghana squad for the November international break.

Akonnor said: “I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he recovers quickly to join us. But of course, it’s an opportunity for other guys to excel. If he was here, he would have played, it’s a fact.

“So now that he is not here, it’s an opportunity for those who mostly come and stay on the bench to play and so we will give the next person the chance to do well. I will give the necessary support to whoever will play to help us to win.”

Arsenal fans shocked with Mustafi rumours

Shkodran Mustafi has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona and it has led to reaction aplenty from Arsenal fans.

Sport are reporting that Ronald Koeman wants a fourth centre-back option and Mustafi has been eyed, alongside Joel Matip and Antonio Rudiger.

Gunners fans are shocked that their out-of-favour defender is being linked with a move to the European giants despite struggling to get into Mikel Arteta’s side.

One fan said on Twitter: “Mustafi on Barcelona’s shortlist for January. Hopefully he goes so (William) Saliba gets his chance.”

With another supporter offering a brutal assessment: “Mustafi linked with Barcelona? No wonder Messi wants to leave that sinking ship.”
