Arsenal to miss out on Dominik Szoboszlai

It is feared that the English Premier League club Arsenal are set to miss out on the signature of Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai with the report that RB Leipzig are now ahead in the chase.
The 20-year-old has had an impressive start to his career, scoring 22 goals and 33 assists from 74 appearances for the Austrian outfit. It is enough to attract interests from top clubs across Europe as Arsenal and AC Milan have been battling for his service.
However, Bild reports that RB Leipzig have already agreed on terms with Salzburg ahead of a January transfer after taking advantage of the fact that the two clubs are under the same ownership.
A fee of £17 million plus add-ons is believed to have been agreed upon to ensure the move and that means the North London outfit will no longer sign the player.
The North London outfit paid attention to Dominik Szoboszlai after missing out on Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar as they need a creative spark to help have a complete team.
Arsenal made an attempt to sign the French midfielder in the last summer transfer window but they failed to achieve that as his asking fee of £54 million could not be met.
Dominik Szoboszlai was noted as an alternative as he would cost less than the Ligue 1 player but he is now unavailable with the report that RB Leipzig have already agreed on a deal for him.
Meanwhile, there were earlier reports that Arsenal chief Edu has met Dominik Szoboszlai’s representatives and have spoken about the possibility of a deal ahead of the January winter transfer window.
The North London outfit have hinted that they will engage in the January winter transfer window to bring in more players as Mikel Arteta is on the project of rebuilding the Arsenal team for a title challenge.
