Dembele move would ruin Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s dream, Man united bid transfer for Arsenal Midfielder

Manchester United could complete a deal for a long-time Arsenal transfer target.

The Red Devils have been very quiet in the transfer market, while all of their top six rivals have strengthened their squads this summer.

Dutchman Donny van de Beek has been the only signing made at Old Trafford and they are expected to be one of the busiest clubs as the transfer window counts down to closing on Monday, October 5.

Jadon Sancho has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for much of the transfer window, with reports emerging on Tuesday evening that United had lodged a £91.3milion bid for the young England star.

However, Borussia Dortmund are holding out for somewhere in the region of £110million and it is a move that is set to rumble on until the 11pm deadline on Monday.

Another name linked with United, perhaps as a cheaper alternative to Sancho, has been long-term Arsenal target Ousmane Dembele.

Dembele has fallen out of favour at the Camp Nou and United are reportedly considering the possibility of a season-long loan deal with a view to a permanent move after that.

The forward cost Barca a whopping £135milllion in 2017 but has never really lived up to that billing, leading to links with a move to the Premier League, firstly with Arsenal and now with United.

And if United sign him there ware bound to be mixed reaction in north London, particularly with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Dembele is good friends with the Arsenal skipper following their time at Borussia Dortmund together and there was even talk that Arsenal signing him could encourage Aubameyang to stay at the club.

The Gabonese forward has, of course, put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at the Emirates, but Dembele signing for one of Arsenal’s rivals could hit Aubameyang hard.

It was reported by Le10 Sport last summer that Aubameyang ‘dreams’ of playing alongside his friend Dembele at the Emirates and that dream would be ruined should he move to Old Trafford.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles to Manchester United

Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been linked with a shock move to Manchester United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are desperate for reinforcements to the squad with time running out in the summer transfer window.

Maitland-Niles, 23, has played five times so far this season and that included making his England debut in the Nations League fixture with Denmark earlier this month.

The midfielder has played more than 100 games for the Gunners having come through the ranks but could his time be nearing an end?

Here’s what has been reported about the move so far.

£20m fee

Any move for the player will not come cheap, with the player still having three years left on his current contract.

The report in Sport1 says United are prepared to pay around £20million for Maitland-Niles.
