Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette after signing new Arsenal deal, Ian Wright message to Aubameyang

The wait for Arsenal fans is finally over after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s new contract with the Gunners was announced on Tuesday.
Club-captain Aubameyang had entered the final 12 months of his deal at the Emirates Stadium, sparking fears that he could leave for free next summer.
However, after opening his account for the season with the third goal against Fulham on the opening day, Aubameyang’s future at Arsenal has finally been resolved as his new deal was announced.
As part of the announcement, Aubameyang was live at the Emirates Stadium and phoned team-mate Alexandre Lacazette.
“Finally, you remember when I put the tick-tock so many times? You know, it takes some time but it’s finally done,” he said.
“I’m glad that you are here. We’re not talking in French, that’s strange. I’m happy to see you and I’m happy to be staying with you for a few years.
Ian Wright delivers brilliant verdict on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signing new Arsenal contract
It had to be a big event.
There has been weeks, months, even years of speculation around the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
His contract situation has been clear for all to see, with his current deal due to expire at the end of this season, meaning he could leave the Emirates on a free transfer.
But he has ended all that talk of leaving, and confirmed what everyone around Arsenal was thinking by signing a new three-year deal to stay in north London.
And it was a big social media event.
Arsenal went live on their official website and their Instagram page, with the live stream first showing a pen and paper and an hourglass – synonymous with Aubameyang’s contract situation – on a desk in the dressing room.
