Houssem Aouar reacts on Instagram after Arsenal transfer talks are confirmed

Arsenal’s transfer talks for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar have been confirmed.
Although, they were not successful as the Ligue 1 outfit’s sporting director, Juninho, has revealed talks were cut short due to a lack of interest in a swap deal involving Gunners youngster Matteo Guendouzi.
“I get on very well with the Sporting Director (Edu),” Juninho told RMC Sport. “We spoke on the phone. Houssem Aouar is really well liked by Arteta.
“There were some discussions for Mattéo Guendouzi, who is also a good player.
“He was brought up during the discussion.
“But we don’t need his profile, we were very clear.
“If it is like that, we are not interested at all, we cut the conversation, that is where things ended.”
With less than a month until transfer deadline day, the Gunners have been tipped to make another move for the Frenchman.
The reliable Fabrizio Romano has said that Arsenal remain in contact with Aouar’s agent and Lyon may negotiate the £54.5m price-tag in the coming weeks.
Whilst a number of Arsenal supporters are getting excited about the prospect of the 22-year-old linking up with the likes of Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang next season, Aouar has managed to remain tight-lipped amid all the rumours.
Although, he has taken to social media just as talks between Arsenal and Lyon were confirmed.
Posting an image of him in a Lyon training session to Instagram with a football emoji, it’s clear that he’s delighted to be back with the squad after having tested positive for COVID-19.
