Man United eye £50m move

Manchester United are apparently “circling” around Aubameyang with the striker’s contract expiring in the summer.

The Sun state that Arsenal have accepted that the striker will not be signing a new deal and would prefer cash to him leaving on a free at the end of the 2020/21 season

Raul Sanllehi and Edu would prefer that he agreed a new deal and stayed, but are tempted to sell, especially if they can get around £50million for the 30-year-old.

The Arsenal hierarchy have vowed to try and avoid situations in the future in which they lose top class talent cheaply, as happened with Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer and Alexis Sanchez departing in a swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan as he entered the final six months of his contract.

Schalke interested in signing Gunners stopper

German side Schalke have identified Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez as a potential signing, according to Sky Sports.

The Argentine has shone in between the sticks for the Gunners since stepping in for Bernd Leno after his injury late last season.

Martinez had spent most of his Arsenal career before then as a back-up goalkeeper, making only a handful of appearances each campaign.

His stock has quickly risen, though, and clubs are looking to capitalise on what may be a slight conundrum for Mikel Arteta.

Leno’s place in the starting XI was in no doubt prior to his injury, but Martinez is unlikely to be content to revert to a peripheral role following his performances over the last few months.

Schalke are in the market for a goalkeeper after losing Alexander Nubel to Bayern Munich, though the club are struggling financially and might struggle to meet Arsenal’s demands for Martinez, who has two years remaining on his contract at the Emirates.

Contract hint

Aubameyang touched on the issue in March on social media when he was asked by ex-Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng about whether he intends to extend his stay in north London.

In a joint Instagram live video, Boateng said: “They’re [fans commenting on the stream] all saying you should sign a new deal with Arsenal.”

Aubameyang replies: “Ah, yeah. I know,” to which Boateng asks: “How long do you have left?”

Alexandre Lacazette decision

Arsenal striker a top target for Spanish club

Alexandre Lacazette is at the ‘top of the list’ of players Atletico Madrid hope to sign before the close of the transfer window.

Sport report the Frenchman is Diego Simeone’s prime target as he looks to bring in a new striker.

Arsenal are believed to be open to selling Lacazette, who was overshadowed by club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last season.

There has been talk of a potential part-exchange deal, with Atletico willing to offload the likes of Thomas Lemar, Angel Correa, and Vitolo, but it remains to be seen if such a transfer would interest Arsenal.

Roma midfielder deal

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing AS Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara. The 23-year-old joined the Italian club in 2019, after spending three seasons at Napoli.

As per Evening Standard, Diawara’s agent has hinted that Arsenal are interested in signing his client. He revealed that his Diawara is proud of interest from various clubs in Europe, including Arsenal.

Diawara made 30 appearances in his first season with Roma. His current contract with the club expires in 2024.

Dani Ceballos returning conditions

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has reportedly agreed to return to Arsenal on loan for the 2020-21 campaign.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at the Emirates Stadium, establishing himself as a key member of Mikel Arteta‘s starting XI after the Spaniard took over.

Ceballos returned to parent club Real Madrid at the end of the season and had been linked with a move to Real Betis, having allegedly asked Madrid to grant a reunion with his former club.
