Chelsea transfer news: Inter to offer swap, Kante price set, Havertz latest

So far in the summer window, the Blues have added Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, and Thiago Silva to their squad ahead of the new season, but further additions are on the way.

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz remains the prime target, with a deal for the Germany international edging closer and Frank Lampard’s side are also chasing a goalkeeper.

Another intriguing and surprising link comes in the shape of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi with the Argentine legend telling the Spanish side that he wants to leave the Nou Camp.

Inter to offer Skriniar for Kante

Inter Milan are willing to offer Milan Skriniar to land N’Golo Kante this summer.

That’s according to Sport Mediaset, who say Antonio Conte is desperate to land Kante this summer.

The only issue is that Chelsea reportedly want £60m and Inter may struggle to cough up that cash.

According to the report, they will negate that issue by offering up centre-back Skriniar.

Kante price set

Chelsea have set a price of £60m for N’Golo Kante.

According to the Express, the Blues could allow their French midfielder to depart this summer.

But they are said to be open on the situation, not willing to leave Kante leave for any less than £60m.

Cascarino believes pressure is on Lampard

“Frank will be fully aware that him getting that investment means there’s a different challenge now,” Cascarino Weekend Sports Breakfast.

“He will know the expectation won’t just be qualifying for Champions League football. That was the expectation last summer, and if they managed it with a transfer embargo then it’s a bonus.

“But that’s not the challenge now. Now it’s guaranteed top-four, but really they’re giving him the finds to challenge for the top-two.

“With that sort of spending you can’t lose 17 games. Chelsea lost 17 games last season, they had a goals against column that was dreadful.

“They opened the Premier League campaign by losing 4-0 at Man United, they conceded four against Ajax, they took a few hammerings against Bayern Munich home and away and lost 5-3 against Liverpool, where they were conceding goals for fun and looked all over the place.

“The lost in the FA Cup final to Arsenal, and Frank would have had a conversation with the powers that be about how they can challenge Man City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Spurs and Arsenal.

“That brings more pressure and Frank will know that, but if he doesn’t reach their expectations and goals then he’s not going to be manager of Chelsea next year.

“If they lose 17 games in a season he won’t be Chelsea manager.”

Chelsea could swap Kepa

According to Football Insider, Chelsea could offer Kepa Arrizabalaga in a bid to land AC Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The Blues are reportedly hoping to upgrade on Kepa with Frank Lampard not impressed.

But they know it will be difficult to shift Kepa this summer.

With that in mind, they may yet offer to swap Kepa for Donnarumma, who is rated at around £50m, according to reports.

Chelsea signed Kepa for £71.6m in 2018.

Abraham eyed by Villa

Aston Villa are said to be eyeing a move for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.

According to the Daily Mail, Villa see an opportunity to sign their former loan star following the arrival of Timo Werner at Stamford Bridge.

Abraham is said to be determined to stay and fight for his place at Chelsea.

Donnaruma linked with £50m move

Chelsea are in talks over a £50m deal to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

That’s according to Football Insider, who say the Blues are keen to add a new goalkeeper ahead of the new season.

It’s become rather public knowledge that Lampard has not been impressed with Kepa Arrizabalaga, and reports now claim he is already in the market to replace the Spaniard.

It seems Donnarumma could be the man to challenge Kepa, though it’s likely Chelsea would attempt to sell the latter if they signed a new stopper given their outlay this summer.

The report claims Chelsea have held talks with Milan who want £50m for their keeper.
