The latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours as Mikel Arteta aims to improve his squad in the summer window ahead of the 2020/21 Premier League season.

The Gunners have fought off competition from Napoli for his signature, with the Brazilian set to sign a long-term contract in north London.

He will join compatriots David Luiz and former Chelsea winger Willian, who was Mikel Arteta’s first summer signing, at the Emirates.

Thiago ‘discussions’

Mikel Arteta has held talks with Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara over a move to the Emirates Stadium, according to reports in France, via talkSPORT.

Thiago has been heavily linked with a switch to Liverpool this summer, but if these reports are to be believed, then Arsenal are also interested in the 29-year-old.

According to French journalist Patrick Moreau, Arteta has held talks with the former Barcelona man on the phone.

The Bayern Munich playmaker starred in the German side’s Champions League final victory over Paris Saint-Germain last weekend.

Greenwood sends farewell message

Arsenal striker Sam Greenwood has taken to social media to send a heartfelt goodbye message to Arsenal ahead of his imminent move away from the Emirates Stadium.

The 18-year-old will shortly complete a move to newly-promoted Leeds United after undergoing a medical with the club on Wednesday.

It is expected that a deal will be announced shortly, with Arsenal receiving a fee of around £1.5 million for the youngster, although add-ons could take the fee up to £3 million.

Wolves to press ahead with AMN deal

Wolves will prioritise a move for Ainsley Matiland-Niles after sanctioning Matt Doherty’s move to Tottenham.

The Gunners are looking for a fee of £20million for their utility man who can operate at right-back or central midfield.

With Doherty on his way to Spurs, that has only added further need for Wolves to complete a deal for Maitland-Niles, as reported by The Daily Star.

Arsenal to announce Gabriel deal

Arsenal will confirm the signing of Gabriel from Lille this week after the defender signed a five-year deal.

The Gunners beat off interest from Napoli and Manchester United to land the Brazilian in a deal worth £22m.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a deal has been concluded and an official announcement will follow later this week.

Fulham eye Smith Rowe

Fulham are planning for the new Premier League season and are eyeing a move for Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe.

The Daily Star states the Cottagers are eyeing a trio of additions from within the Premier League, with Smith Rowe among them after catching the eye for Huddersfield Town on loan last season.

The England youth international is not short of suitors, with it reported that Monaco had recently seen an approach regarding a permanent deal rejected by the Gunners.
