Arsenal given green light to sign €35m-rated La Liga playmaker

James Rodriguez admitted he is keen on a summer transfer to the PL as his time at Real Madrid draws to a close. Colombia international has been frozen out by the French manager this campaign, starting only five matches in La Liga and scoring once.

James moved to the Spanish club six years ago but spent two campaigns on loan at Bayern Munich before returning to Santiago Bernabeu the last campaign. However, he will now look to end his association with the club, who are willing to sell him for a bargain £23m.

Gunners are said to be showing ‘the most’ interest in Rodriguez, while his representatives held talks with Man United chiefs. And now he has publicly revealed that he would be keen on a move to these shores.

‘I’ve already been in several good leagues and the only thing missing is Serie A and the Premier League, you have to see where I want to go or where they want me to go,’ the Colombian playmaker said. ‘Going to England would be a good thing, it’s a top league.’

He added: ‘I too would like to know where I am going. It may take days or weeks until I know where I am going.  ‘I really don’t know. I want to go where I can play, where I am happy and where I feel loved by the whole world.’ James expressed his frustration at not being allowed to leave last summer as he finally prepares to move on to pastures new.
