Didier Drogba spotted with Declan Rice amid £50m Chelsea transfer speculation

Declan Rice continues to spark rumours of a move to Chelsea after being pictured with two Blues legends while on holiday.

The West Ham star is being heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as Frank Lampard looks to bolster his defensive options ahead of the new season.

The Chelsea boss is reportedly looking to utilise Rice as a centre-back, rather than the defensive midfield role he has taken up for much of his time with the Hammers.

Rice already has connections to the Blues, having grown up in Chelsea’s academy before being released at the age of 14.

Chelsea were reported to have lodged a £50million bid for Rice earlier this week but football.london understands that this was wide of the mark.

Rice though has fuelled suggestions he could be heading to Stamford Bridge by being pictured with a couple of Chelsea legends while on holiday.

Having been pictured with John Terry at the former Blues captain’s home in Portugal, the England international was also seen with Didier Drogba while on holiday in Greece with Mason Mount.

Rice has been friends with Mount since the pair played together in Chelsea’s academy, and having now been pictured with two Chelsea legends, fans will be wondering if he’ll make it a third by meeting with Lampard to discuss a potential move.

West Ham, though, are determined to keep hold of their star player, meaning the Blues may have to break the bank in order to land him.
